How the Waitlist Works – Choosing & Passing
We operate from one master waitlist. Families are added in the order their reservation fee is received, and that order determines pick priority. When kittens are born, we contact families in this order- to choose from the available kittens in that litter.
If the current litter does not have the color or gender you are hoping for, you may pass once and keep your position for the next litter. If you choose to pass twice, you will move to the bottom of the waitlist. This ensures fairness for all families waiting and prevents extended delays in placement.
Pick order does not change between litters, and families may not move ahead of others by switching to a different queen’s litter.
Note: If we have multiple litters available, here’s the rule we follow: If you pass, you are passing on all kittens currently available and retain your position for the next set of available kittens. Once we have announced that we have kittens available, no one will get “cut in line” due to someone ahead of them choosing to pass.
How long until you get a kitten?
We have two main kitten availability seasons each year — early Spring and early Fall. Roughly 18 (give or take) people take kittens home each season.
Litter sizes vary and people often pass- which can cause the waitlist to move more quickly than expected. We will keep families updated as we move through the list.
